Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the Telegram bot @SendToTodoistBot ("the bot") does with your data. The bot turns your Telegram messages into tasks in Todoist. It is an independent project; questions about this policy go to /support in the bot (see Support).
What the bot stores
- Your Telegram user ID and profile fields Telegram shares with bots: name, username, language.
- Your Todoist API token, encrypted.
- Your settings: default project, timezone, default due date, whether AI task generation and splitting into several tasks are on, which projects AI may use.
- When you started using the bot and when you last used it.
- A history of actions without their content, e.g. "a task was created" or "a setting was changed".
What the bot does not store
The text of your messages, attachments and task content are relayed to Todoist and discarded. The bot does not store or log them and does not run analytics on them.
Who your data is shared with
Only with the services strictly required to fulfil your request. We never sell your data.
- Telegram, which delivers your messages to the bot.
- Todoist, where the bot creates your tasks on your behalf.
- An AI provider, while AI task generation is on (see below).
- A speech-to-text provider, when you send a voice message while AI is on.
AI task generation and voice messages
AI task generation is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in /settings. While it is on:
- The text of your message(s) and any attached files (PDFs, photos, text files) are sent to a third-party AI provider for a single request, so the model can compose the task title, description, due date and pick a project.
- Voice messages are sent to a third-party speech-to-text provider for transcription. Neither the audio nor the transcript is stored by the bot.
- The bot itself does not store the contents of your messages, files or voice messages.
- Please do not attach highly sensitive documents (identity documents, medical records, banking credentials). AI is meant for tickets, booking confirmations, invitations, receipts, notes and similar.
Turning AI task generation off stops sending any further data to the AI provider. Turning it back on is treated as acceptance of this Privacy Policy as of the "Last updated" date above.
Support
Messages you send via /support are delivered to the developer in a private Telegram group, where they are answered. The bot's database does not store their content, only message ids that link your messages to the replies.
Deleting your data and getting a copy
/settings → Disconnect removes your Todoist token and your settings for Todoist. Your Telegram user ID, profile fields and action history are kept, so connecting again later restores your account.
To delete all data the bot holds about you, including your support conversation, or to get a copy of it, write to /support in the bot. Requests are handled manually within one month.

When this policy changes, this page is updated together with the "Last updated" date above.
